Tues 3rd Aug 10: Friendly; Delabole Utd AFC 0 (0) v (1) 3 St Teath
With the new season kicking off shortly, a tantalising match between The Slaters and the Duchy League Premier champions St Teath. The 1st team underwent a change of manager with Jon Pooley now in charge, with a few players coming back to the Delabole team. The game started brightly with a large crowd looking on. The best chance fell to the Slaters when Darren 'The Wall' Rivers found himself one on one with the keeper, but sadly the shot was easily blocked by the on rushing keeper. The visitors had a number of corners in a row which were sent in with great accuracy into the six yard box these being cleared by the defence well. Delabole were showing good signs of possession and passing against a superior team. But the visitors grabbed their first goal on the stroke of halftime, 0-1. The second half started much the same way with both teams enjoying good possession. Lee 'The Cat' Heather was having a brilliant game in goal, pulling off some fantastic saves keeping the Slaters in the game. But to no avail. St Teath added two more before the final whistle, 0-3.
Not a bad result at all against the Champions, could this be our season at last?

Sun 8th Aug 10 :Friendly; Delabole Utd AFC 0 (0)v(1) 1 Boscastle.
The local derby got underway with quite a few players out for different reasons and within 30 seconds of the kick off Boscastle took the lead when the player went through the defence and scored a soft goal, 0-1. Ashley 'to Ashes' Morris had a half chance when the ball bounced over the defenders head and his shot was palmed away by the keeper. Also Lee 'Cantona' Dungey had his volley go inches wide from a well sent over freekick. Halftime. The second half saw a bit of a stalemate with both sides not able to create many chances. Boscastle nearly had another goal when their cross was put onto our own crossbar by Ryan 'Giggs' Williams. And Boscastle had a shot dip onto the crossbar and over. The team need to create more chances and convert them, but things are promising.
